We offer games, crafts, group activities, swimming and lots of fun. Children can arrive as early as 7:00am and must be picked up by 6:00pm. The Y staff will lead & participate in all activities. Parents need to send a sack lunch, two snacks, water bottle, swimsuit and towel for their children.
School’s Out Parents: Be sure to register your children for the day in advance.
For children not enrolled in School’s Out Program, payment is required before your children participate.
Attention Parents: You’re allowed to register the day of the program, but there will be an extra $5.00 charge per child. Pre-registration ensures we have the appropriate amount of staff and materials for projects. Sign up 24 hours prior for Kids Day Off.

Over 1,000 youths take part statewide each year. The program is open for students in 8th through 12th grade. Find out what it is like to run the state government as either a legislator, court judge, lobbyist, page or a member of the news media. The Y sets up local delegations, gives training and assistance. The launch training is at Fridley High School October 27, 2018 and the model assembly is January 10-13, 2019. All delegations meet in St. Paul to form and run a model state government, make new friends and have fun in the process. Meeting dates and times will be announced at your school in early September.
